In another life I was a barrister with twin passions for travel and photography. After nearly 30 years in professional practice, I re-invented myself as a photographic artist, with a B/Vis.Art from ANU, and travelled Australia for 15 months with my wife, Elizabeth. In my new career, I have developed portfolios as diverse as panoramic landscapes, urban street scenes, nature in the wild, ancient and modern architecture, in abstract, infrared, monochrome or vivid colour. I enjoy telling stories through my images and have undertaken several major photo-documentaries covering a wide range of subjects, including the killing fields of East Timor, chronic over-population in Hong Kong, wind farm technology and Buddhism in contemporary Sri Lanka. Several of these have been exhibited in Canberra, Darwin and Hervey Bay over the past 4 years. I recently won the People's Choice Award in the Stockland "Show Us Your Hervey Bay" photography competition and am featured in that photobook. When I'm not on the road shooting material for new portfolios, I write freelance feature articles and am a regular contributor to several major travel and motoring magazines, including On The Road, Caravan World and Australian 4x4 Action.
